Abstract

In this article we propose a reflection starting from the scenic dialogue between two elements: the dramatic text built on a traditional or canonical structure, and the language of image. In order to support our reflection, we propose to base it on two very different examples that work with William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. In the first one, we can appreciate the use of the audiovisual sign on stage from its inclusion in the projection of images and live recording. In the other one, with no screens or cameras, we approach the influence that the language of image has exercised on the scenic narrative as a compositional principle. All this will allow us to draw conclusions about the dialogue that is created on stage from two such different elements such as the classical text and the scenic narration based on the image.
