Estudio de los infractores de tránsito en cruces semaforizados en la ciudad de Loja (Ecuador) y su relación con los siniestros viales
Abstract
Traffic violations are a recurring problem worldwide, especially at traffic light crossings, because they are infrastructures that manage large vehicular flows, favoring the possibility of road accidents. Due to this importance, this study aims to determine the frequency and the reasons why drivers cross the traffic light in red and yellow (traffic violations) and the relationship with the generation of road accidents through the "Probit" model. , for this, 623 surveys were collected in a city south of Ecuador. As a result, the marginal effects of the probit regression were defined when committing an infraction when the traffic light is red and yellow vs. the probability of suffering a road accident. In addition, it was determined that the causes with the highest risk of accidents are: being in a hurry and traffic congestion.Downloads
