Abstract

This Dossier includes papers from several members of the GEDAL (Argentine and Latin American Dance Studies Group). Our group works at the Institute of Argentine and Latin American Art History, "Luis Ordaz" (Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of Buenos Aires). We aim to create a space for interdisciplinary study, exchange and research that seeks to build knowledge about and from local and regional dances in their specificity, with a decolonial perspective, and in hemispheric dialogue with the hegemonic countries. Since 2018, GEDAL has carried out various educational and scientific activities focused on Critical Studies of Argentine and Latin American Dance, in academic, artistic and cultural contexts. The group is directed by Dr. Eugenia Cadús, and its members, researchers, doctoral fellows, professors, and students dedicated to Dance Studies are Ayelen Clavin, Belén Arenas Arce, Irene de la Puente, Aldana Iglesias, Victoria Alcala, Sofía Rypka and Ana Pellegrini.
