Abstract
From the perspective of the typological classification of sources belonging to the late antiquity, the contrast between lives and catalogs plays an important role in the consideration of Christian historiographical discourse. The case of Caesareus is then notorious, as he is a fundamental socio-cultural actor for the conformation of the Latin Christian communities and for having been, thus, object of diversely written portraits. The present contribution tries to formally characterize such productions, evaluating their claims of legitimacy and impact among their more or less immediate recipients.Downloads
