LA RESURRECCIÓN RETÓRICA DE LA REPÚBLICA EN 1890. UN ANÁLISIS SOBRE LAS RELACIONES ENTRE ELOCUENCIA, ORATORIA Y POLÍTICA EN ARGENTINA A FINES DEL SIGLO XIX
Abstract
This article analyzes the relationships between rhetoric, oratory and politics in Argentina, throughout the nineteenth century in general and during the crisis of 1890 in particular. In this regard, we believe that in the special circumstances of 1890 several actors feared in particular the disintegration of the politic body of the Republic as a result of citizen’s growing indifference to public affairs. The Civicos, therefore, decided to undertake a “regeneration campaign” hold up on the belief of the “sovereign power of the word”, and on the legitimacy granted by their speakers’ eloquence to transform political habits.Downloads
