Use of Methyl Cellulose as Mild Glue in the Labeling of Books for Re-shelving: An Experience
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show the results and conclusions with the use of methyl cellulose as an adhesive in the labeling of books. The experience was aimed to identify options to adhesive tape and stickers in the labeling of books, as well as to start the development of the Library’s preservation policies for re-shelving the Library´s general collection of the Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliotecológicas (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Universidad de Buenos Aires) during 2009.Downloads
