Abstract

By reading solely the following passages: LI, 16, 22-LI, 19, 13, this paper intends to present the main points. Then, it highlights, firstly, the Abelardian analysis of the definition of “quod de pluribus praedicatur”. Secondly, the ones of “coiunctio” and “de status rei”. Thirdly, the aporias of the “nomen universale”, and, finally, the conditions required by Abelard to recover the universals.   [The next volume presents the second part of this work.
